Covert Ottawa Weekly Update: Ottawa Events September 16th -22nd

Well hello!! I would say “Good Monday morning” but I’m running very late this week. Cityfolk was a lot for me this year, and I’m still recovering. However, this week’s events are updated and we’re all ready to roll on a new week of fun activities!

Festival season isn’t quite dead yet for 2019. The Richmond fair is this weekend running from Wednesday night through Sunday with all kinds of amazing activities. You’ll have to check out their website for a full schedule. This weekend, the incredible Beau’s Oktoberfest is running on Friday and Saturday. Don’t be scared off by the distance, it is so worth the drive/shuttle. They have tons of cheap camping on site or there are shuttles from around Ottawa if you choose. I absolutely love this event; the food, drinks, music and activities are all incredible so if you’ve never been, check it out this year….the weather looks like it’ll cooperate too! Running this week as well is the Prismatic Arts Festival with all kinds of great concerts and performances at various sites around the city. Their full schedule is available for your perusal.

Country music fans rejoice; there are some great concerts this week here in Ottawa too!! Aaron Pritchett will be performing on Tuesday night at Overflow Brewing Company and then on Sunday, you can catch Dean Brody and Dallas Smith at the Canadian Tire Centre for their “Friends don’t let Friends Tour Alone” Tour. Also live in Ottawa this week, you can find Carley Rae Jepsen at the revitalized Bronson Centre on Monday night. Tuesday night, at Queen Street Fare, you will find Kimberly Sundstrum, Thursday at Orange Art Gallery, River City Junction is putting on a show, and Ambush is live at Greenfields on Friday night.

We’ve got a busy sports week in Ottawa. The Sens have two pre-season home games this week; Wednesday night, the Toronto Maple Leafs are in town, and Saturday night, the Montreal Canadiens are visiting, both games at the Canadian Tire Centre. The Ottawa Fury also have two home games this week. Tuesday, they play host to the visiting Tampa Bay Rowdies, and Sunday, it’s the Hartford Athletic in town. The Ottawa Redblacks  have a game here in Ottawa versus the BC Lions on Saturday night. Finally for the sports theme, you will find the C*4 Wrestling Season 13 premier on Friday night at Sala San Marco!

A few random events that I believe deserve a special shout out include the Ottawa Parent and Child Fall Expo  which is on all weekend at the EY Centre, The Festival of Small Hall’s Chef’s Table series continues Saturday and Sunday featuring Chef Pat Garland, and finally, at the Canadian Agriculture and Food Museum, you will find Canada’s Coolest Curds: Ottawa’s Artisan Cheese Festival on Saturday.

A full list of this week’s events can be found here!!

Where will I be??

As mentioned, I’m still recovering from Cityfolk for the last four straight days, so I have nothing specific planned until Friday morning when I arrive in Vankleek Hill for Beau’s Oktoberfest. I’ll be their right through the weekend. If you’re camping, make sure to say “hi”!!
