Covert Ottawa Weekly Newsletter: COVID-19 and St. Patty’s Day Edition

Good morning. Today marks day-one of the official work and school shut down. All schools and city run buildings are closed, and most of the Government is working from home. Most retail stores and restaurants are still open though, so no need to panic buy, there’s no shortage of food or toilet paper. This weekly post is going to be a little different, for obvious reasons. Basically, all major events have been cancelled or postponed throughout Ottawa, so there isn’t much to list. I am trying to keep up with the smaller events though. Although it’s great to still have things to do around town, it should be noted that we are being encouraged to stay away from social gatherings.

I am still maintaining the events calendar to indicate what events have been cancelled or postponed, so if it was already listed, I’ve changed the title, however I will not be entering events that weren’t previously listed if they’ve been cancelled. I have also created a post that details everything that has been postponed, and I update it daily (or more often if needed). You can see that here.

A full list of this week’s events can be found here!!

Announcements:

Last week, I attended Dancing at Lughnasa at the Gladstone Theatre. Although the second week was postponed, I do recommend going to see it should it start up again. You can read my review by clicking here.

I have a new feature on my website, and I’m happy to see that many of you are using it! If you are organizing, hosting, or running an event, and want it promoted on my events calendar, you can now enter it yourself! In just a few easy steps, you’ll have it posted for the world to see. You can either create an account (saves time if you will have multiple events, while allowing me to contact you via email if I have questions), or you can do it anonymously, it’s your choice! Once you enter your information, I typically have it approved within the hour (unless it’s overnight and I’m sleeping). You can do that by clicking here!

If you’re hosting an event in the future, I offer advertising and promotion packages…please click on: Promote your Event on the main menu for details. I also offer the option to sell your event tickets through my site at a competitive price, so why not stay local? Please contact me for more information; I have many promotional packages available that can be tailored to meet your needs. Finally, I am pleased to offer an array of services for all types of events. My network is regularly expanding, and I’d be happy to connect you with the services that you’ll need to make your event a success!!

St. Patrick’s Day!

Tomorrow is St. Patty’s Day, and from what I can see, there are still a ton of events going on around the city to celebrate this special Irish day, all of which are in smaller establishments. Normally I would create a post with all the details of each and every event, but instead I’ll post some event links here:
