If you’re one of the people who thinks that there is nothing going on in Ottawa on weeknights, do I have the event for you! The Red Bird Live plays host once each month to an incredible event: Broadway Nights Ottawa: A Musical Theatre Open Night. This event is happening tomorrow, Wednesday May 31st. I had the pleasure of attending this event a few weeks ago, and it was a blast! All of the city’s most talented singers (and Broadway fans!) come together for an evening of performances, sing-alongs, and fun! And this month: an exciting addition: cast members from Jagged Little Pill will be in attendance!
Doors open at 8 pm, and the show starts at 8:30! Cover is $10 at the door. Hope to see many of you there!
If you have never been to Red Bird, here’s a quick description from their website:
We are a live music space dedicated to performance, education and the live music experience. The space consists a of a premium 80-capacity seated venue, four teaching rooms and a Snack Café. Our music school delivers private, semi private and group lessons to students of all ages and abilities, providing top notch instruction in guitar, piano, banjo, ukulele, cello and more. Group classes include both afterschool and weekend programs. The Snack Café offers locally sourced snack foods: Soft Pretzels, pastries, red pizzas, pressed sandwiches and more. We also serve local beers, non-alcoholic craft sodas, cocktails, wine, and coffee/tea. In the venue, all 80 seats face the stage providing a great listening space for americana, folk, singer/songwriter, bluegrass, Celtic and country music performances.
