Orpheus Musical Theatre is back to close out their season with their third production of the year. OTTAWA – From June 2 to 11, 2023, join Orpheus Musical Theatre as they present smash hit Broadway musical Something Rotten! at Meridian Theatres @ Centrepointe.
Come follow the journey of the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, struggling playwrights in the time of Shakespeare. Overshadowed by “the Bard”, the brothers need to go big to make their mark. Some confusing advice leads them to hatch the first ever musical – something you have to see to believe!
This musical comedy is an outrageously silly romp that combines Shakespeare in Love with a big dash of Monty Python’s Spamalot. The result are catchy songs, flashy tap sequences, and crowd-pleasing showstoppers, decked out with stylish Renaissance flair.
With music by Karey and Wayne Kirkpatrick, the writers who brought you classics like The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Mrs. Doubtfire the musical, Something Rotten! is uproarious fun through and through.
The Director and Choreographer of Something Rotten, Debbie Guilbeault, is excited for audiences to see the show. “Take a strong script and score, add a top-notch cast and production team and the result is quality entertainment.
