DESCRIPTION:Due to injury\, the Kanneh-Mason Trio had to cancel their performance. \nWe are pleased to announce that violinist Simone Lamsma will join the NAC Orchestra to perform Korngold’s Violin Concerto. For your convenience\, original ticket orders for this concert remain valid. All exchanges or refunds must be requested no later than 24 hours before the concert. \nA powerful blend of innovation\, virtuosity\, and symphonic storytelling.\nViolinist Simone Lamsma steps in for this special program\, performing Korngold’s lush and cinematic Violin Concerto in D major\, a work that holds deep meaning for Music Director Alexander Shelley and his long artistic journey with the NAC Orchestra. \nThe concert opens with Nicole Lizée’s Zeiss After Dark\, a mesmerizing orchestral tribute to the candlelit cinematography of Stanley Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon. \nThe evening concludes with Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 3 “Eroica”\, a work whose explosive opening chords reshaped orchestral music forever. Moving from tension and struggle to radiant triumph\, the “Eroica” remains one of Beethoven’s most daring and emotionally charged creations.
